AdvanThink and Quandela demonstrate the potential of quantum artificial intelligence in payment fraud detection
Paris-Saclay, June 17, 2025
AdvanThink, the European leader in payment fraud detection, and Quandela, a French start-up pioneering photonic quantum computing, announce an ambitious scientific partnership to shape the future of payment security.
A shared ambition: to revolutionize fraud detection
By combining AdvanThink's expertise in artificial intelligence with the emerging power of quantum computing developed by Quandela, the two partners intend to lay the foundations for tomorrow's fraud detection solutions - even faster, more accurate, more efficient and more robust in the face of increasingly sophisticated attacks.
Detecting fraud in real time is a major strategic challenge, in a context where fraud techniques are constantly evolving. Backed by 35 years of innovation, AdvanThink develops AI tools capable of identifying weak signals on a large scale with unrivalled speed and accuracy. But the challenges ahead call for a new generation of models: more powerful, more energy-efficient and better armed in the face of emerging threats.
A world first: quantum AI integrated into an industrial detection system
The aim of this partnership is to demonstrate, via an initial proof of concept, the added value of a quantum machine learning algorithm integrated into an industrial fraud processing pipeline.
"For 35 years, AdvanThink has placed technological innovation at the heart of its strategy. Quantum AI represents a major breakthrough for payment security. Thanks to our collaboration with Quandela, we have succeeded in integrating their technology within an operational pipeline that complies with industrial requirements. This first demonstrator opens up very promising prospects for anti-fraud experts", says Brice Perdrix, CEO of AdvanThink.
"Quandela has developed a quantum machine learning model initially designed for credit risk analysis. This model also reveals strong potential for fraud detection. The partnership with AdvanThink enables us to test this technology in an industrial environment and compare it with the best solutions currently on the market", explains Niccolo Somaschi, co-founder and CEO of Quandela.
